Octopus,
Octopus,
Purchasing shoes,
Got lost on her way to the store…
No G.P.S signal,
Or smartphone with app,
Was dizzy and spinning for sure…
Octopus,
Octopus,
Used her 8 legs,
To scratch her large octopus head,
Wondered if someone,
Could give her directions,
To find the new shoe store instead…
Cuttlefish saw her,
And wanted to help,
Helping just made him feel good,
He always gave help,
When someone was lost,
Just like a cephalopod should!
He pointed up north,
East, west, and south,
Using all 8 of his legs…
Spinning and swirling,
And twisting and twirling,
Like water that’s boiling eggs…
Octopus,
Octopus,
Stopped him and said,
You’re pointing me 8 different ways,
Cuttlefish said,
That’s really because,
Each corner has shoe stores these days…
Octopuses are cephalopod mollusks that live in oceans all around the world.
Octopuses have 8 legs (tentacles) that are lined with suction cups.
An octopus body is soft- it has no skeleton, the only hard part being its beak-like mouth.
Octopuses have 3 hearts- one main heart and two smaller hearts by its gills.
All octopuses have venom, but only the blue-ringed octopus is potentially deadly to humans.
Octopuses have a number of ways to protect themselves. They are fast swimmers that can hide in small spaces. They can also eject ink from their bodies that help them hide and also make it harder for predators to smell them.
Octopuses are considered to be the most intelligent of all invertebrates.
