Dark brown bark,
On big-tall tree,
Dripped from high humidity…
Water vapor in the sky,
Angered spider this is why…

Climbed to go,

Don’t you know…
But just as spider did arrive,
She had a very big surprise,
Sticky, sweaty, humid air,
Had curled up Spider’s straight black hair!

What is humidity?

Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air.
Humidity is measured by a device called a hygrometer.
When humidity is very high, we say it is ‘muggy,’ or ‘sticky’ outside.

High humidity makes your sweat less effective in cooling your body down, therefore it is important to take precautions when you are active in areas or days with high humidity.

When humidity reaches 100% the air is saturated, clouds will form and rain will generally start to fall.

Humidity can make your hair ‘frizzy’ because hair absorbs water vapor from the air and expands.
