Periodic Table Poem

(elements for sale!!!)

periodic table of elements

Gold! Neon! Elements!
Chemicals in elephants!
I got Argon, Zinc, Chlorine,
And elements found in-between…
Metals, gasses,
Don’t you know,
Some of them,
Can even glow!
What’s the price of pure, ore gold?
Check the table,
Then it’s sold!
All the prices,
On the table,
No need for barcodes or a label!
Purchase copper, silver, lead,
I’ve got deals,
Just ask Fred…
Need the prices?
Check and see,
They’re listed there,
Periodically!

Excuse me sir,
But this table,
Ain't for prices,
It's not able,
To give the cost,
Of elements,
Or cars, or toys,
Or peppermints…
Yes, fine sir,
Your sale’s great,
But this table shows,
Atomic weight!

What is the periodic table of elements?
The periodic table lists all of the known elements (currently 118).
It was created by Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev in 1869.
The elements are arranged in order of atomic number, which is the number of protons in the element's nucleus.
Columns on the periodic table are known as groups and separate elements with similar properties: noble gases, halogens, alkali metals, alkali earths.
Rows of the periodic table are known as periods and also can be useful in grouping the elements they contain.
